GREENFIELD, Mass. - Thomas F. Cawley, 66, of Davis Street, Greenfield, MA died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

He was born in Newport, RI on January 10, 1943, the son of Raymond T. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Miller) Cawley.
He graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor's Degree in History.
He had been a resident of Greenfield since 1980.
Tom was the coordinator for the Beacon House for Men since 1988. Previously, he was employed by the Franklin Medical Center in the Beacon Programs.
He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Specialist 5th class.
Tom was an avid philatelist and Bruins fan and was a woodcarver.
Besides his father of Newport, RI, he leaves 4 brothers, Raymond "Joe" Cawley Jr., Ralph Cawley, Patrick Cawley, all of Newport, RI and John Cawley of Portsmouth, RI, 6 sisters, Margaret Boyle of Vienna, VA, Dorothy Cawley of Mankato, MN, Sister Constance Cawley of Chicopee, MA, Anne Alton of Wakefield, RI, Catherine Andrews of Miami, FL and Mary Norbury of Middletown, RI and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
His partner was Elaine Clark of Greenfield, MA.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Rosemary Marvel and Patricia Souza.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, at 6 p.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 16, 2009, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Broadway, Newport, RI.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Beacon House for Men, c/o Wayne DeGrenier, 57 Beacon Street, Greenfield, MA 01301.
