Mary Ann's maiden name is Miles, she was born in Ray County , Missouri 1846. She moved with her family to Indianola, Shawnee County, Kansas. In 1854 her father lost his bounty land. She and her family remained in the area of Shawnee County,

Mary Ann Miles, in 1863 married, John .W. Ritenour, they had a daughter,
Clarabelle Miranda Ritenour.
After the passing of John Ritenour in an Indian raid, in Ogden, Riley Co. Kansas, US, she then married Robert Charles Irvine in 1871, also of Ogden, Riley Co. Kansas, US.

Death of Mrs Mary Irvine.
Mrs. Mary Irvine, and old settler here passed away at her home 117 East 13th. Street, Sunday morning at the age of 79 years. The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Francis Xavier Church, in charge of Rev. John O'Brien. Friends may call this evening at her home. Interment will be in Highland cemetery. The Pritchard Undertaking Co. have charge of arrangements.
