Andrew Jackson Taylor was born in Pennsylvania. He was listed on the 1850 Clarion County, Pennsylvania census with his parents, Thomas and Margaret, and 9 siblings. His family moved to Peoria Township, Franklin County, Kansas Territory in 1856, where they were listed in the 1860 census.

Andrew J. Taylor, of Peoria City, Kansas, enlisted in Co. I of the 16th Kansas Cavalry in March of 1864. He mustered out in November of 1865.

A. J. Taylor married Charlotte Morley on June 6, 1872 in Franklin County, Kansas. (marriage index) They were listed together on the 1875 & 1880 Peoria, Franklin, Kansas census reports with a son named Philemon A., who was born in or about 1874. Charlotte was listed as age 27 in 1880, born in England. She received a Civil War widow's pension in August of 1885, which was filed from Kansas.

Charlotte Taylor remarried Daniel F. Hall in 1888.(Franklin County marriage index) D. F. Hall has memorial # 73592906. They were listed together in 1895,1900,& 1905 in Bourbon County, Kansas. "Lottie" Hall is listed in 1910 as a widow with her father, George Morley, in Seattle, King, Washington.
