Raymond Cleo Anderson, 94, of Water Valley, Ky., died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at Van Ayer Manor Nursing Home, Martin.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Waverly Hall City Cemetery, Waverly Hall, Ga. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 8-10 a.m. on Friday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, Ky.
Anderson was born January 17, 1915 in Dukedom, son of the late Moses Claude and Ollie Alderdice Anderson. He was a United State Army veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean War and was a retired motor pool sergeant. He was a member of Waverly Hall Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Govie McClure Anderson of Water Valley, Ky.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Raymond C. and Marcia Anderson Jr., and Steven A. Anderson, all of Valdosta, Ga. And James E. Falls of Tifton, Ga.; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Warner Wade of Columbus, Ga., Susan G. and Aubrey Peacock of Fortson, Ga., Karen D. and Donald Wright of Palm Bay, Fla., Debra K. and Barry Rollins of Valdosta, Donna J. Bellew of Clinton, Ky. and Jeri and Keith Hayes of Martin; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Inez Madelyn Ford Anderson; one daughter, Linda S. Anderson; two step sons and two step daughters; five brothers, James Anderson, M. C. Anderson, Delbert Anderson, Halbert Anderson and Wayne Anderson; and one sister, Dorothy Minerch.
