His travels in life took him to places around the world but his heart brought him back to Minnesota. He saw a beauty of nature in the woods, lakes and fields. He loved to spend time gardening, fishing, traveling, reading and enjoyed country music.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, Brainerd; his children, Patricia (Ed) Andresen, Indianapolis, Ind, Phillip Hendricks, Fort Meyers, Fla, Teresa (Bob) Guy, Charleston, S.C., Veronica (John) Dupilka, Wright City,. MO., Valerie Hendricks, Charleston, W, Va., his stepchildren, Tom (Kathy) Thompson, Tamara (Rick) Felton, Coeur d"Alene, Idaho, Terry (Linda) Thompson, Aitkin, Tim (RaeAnn) Thompson, Brainerd; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Helen Bock, Florence(John) Nelson, Harvey Hendricks, all of Brainerd, Herbert Hendricks, Lisbon, Maine, Bernard Hendricks, Motley, Martha Killan, Arthur & Donald Hendricks, all of Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Gabriel Waweru officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 255 of Brainerd. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. at the Halverson-Johnson funeral Home in Brainerd with Rosary at 4 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
