Elder Davis Dimock was born at Rocky Hill, Hartford County, CT on May 27, 1776. His parents were David Dimock and Sarah Green. He married Betsey Jenkins, daughter of Benjamin Jenkins on the 5th of June, 1797. They had twelve children: Benjamin Dimock; Sally who married Nehemiah Scott; Davis Dimock, Jr.; Betsey Dimock married Hubbard Avery for her 1st husband and Luther Badger for her second husband; Lydia C. was wife of Leonard Searle; Asa G.; John H.; David, who died at sea; and Dr. Gordon Z. Dimock.
