Lottie McNeley Funeral Friday

Lottie E. McNeley of Winterset died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Villa West Care Center at the age of 85. Mrs. McNeley had lived in Madison County most of her life.

Born on Oct. 28, 1894, at St. Charles, Mo., she was the daughter of George and Frances Jones Hamblin. She was united in marriage to Roy McNeley on Oct. 14, 1923, in Polk County, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1970. They farmed near St. Charles for 11 years and moved to Winterset in 1951.

Surviving are four sons, Lee of Peru, Dean of Atlantic, Bill of Lorimor and Donald of Rockford, Minn.; three daughters, Nora Ware of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Jungst of Arvada, Colo., and Gladys Kingery of Missouri Valley, Iowa; two stepsons, Russell of Bossier City, La., and Albert of Denver, Colo.; a stepdaughter Myree Binder of Lincoln, Neb.; 33 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Anna and Betty; and a brother, Claude.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Grotewold officiating. Burial was at Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
