Deward Jack Littlefield was born on October 27, 1923, in Peggs, Oklahoma, to Gilson and Lillie (Blevins) Littlefield. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 27 days. Growing up, Deward attended Peggs and Lucky schools.
MILITARY:
He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he had spent over 2 years in Normandy, earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

Aside for a short time in Ca
lifornia, Deward had lived in the Locust Grove and Peggs area. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 33 years of service. On December 24, 1945, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Deward and Bernice Burchett were united in marriage and were married for over 55 years. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2001. Deward attended church at the Peggs Community Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for crappie. Deward was known for his cooking at numerous hog fries. On August 8, 2001, in Miami, Oklahoma, Deward and Jewell Bell were united in marriage. He is survived by: wife: Jewell of the home; 1 son: Gerald Littlefield, Sr. and wife Doris of Locust Grove; OK; 1 daughter: Jacqueline Pendleton and husband Mike of Locust Grove, OK; 2 daughters-in-law: Donna Littlefield of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Brenda Rowland of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 sister-in-law: Billie Jean Littlefield of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren: Tamatha Brumley and husband Shannon, Tonya Daily and husband Brad, Gerald Littlefield, Jr. and wife Brooke, Tyler Littlefield, Dalton Littlefield, Kyle Pendleton, and Tristan Pendleton, all of Locust Grove, OK, Danielle Littlefield of Pryor, Deward Jack Littlefield III and wife Lelani of Catoosa, and Billy Littlefield and wife Stacy of Gore; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mattie Lou Haney and husband Clyde of Locust Grove, OK and Louise Condit and husband E.B. of Pryor; 1 brother: Doug Littlefield of Locust Grove, OK. Deward was preceded in death by: his parents; wife: Bernice; 2 sons: D.J. and Bill; 1 granddaughter: Angela; 6 brothers; 5 sisters; and 1 sister-in-law. Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M, Friday, January 25, 2008, at the Iron Post Free Holiness Church. Reverend Rob Pierce officiated. Interment followed at the New Home Cemetery in Peggs, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to the Locus Grove Funeral Home.
