Graveside services for Joel Henry Cook, 78, of Longview, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Gum Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Goude and the Rev. Donald Points officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009, at a local nursing home.
Mr. Cook was born August 30, 1931, in Henderson County, Texas, to William and Lily Ruth Cook, and lived in Longview for more than 30 years.
He was retired from Amco-Pittsburgh and was a Pentecostal.
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ethel and Billie.
He is survived by his wife, Mozell of Longview; sons and daughter-in-law, George Cook of Longview and Henry and Sandra Cook of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Joe Earley of Tatum; brother, Ray Cook of Sheppard, Texas; sister, Darcus Rast of Diboll, Texas; grandchildren, Kenda, Candice, Thomas, Crystal, Jonny, Chrystal and Brandon; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. today, November 16, 2009 at Welch Funeral Home.
