Durell Curby Gann, age 64, died Thursday, September 27 at Houston Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, September 28 at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Wicker officiating.

The son of Jessie Lee Doss Gann and the late David Marvin Gann, he was self employed. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lynette House Gann of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Ann Wilson of Aberdeen and Ms. Joyce Naron of Houston; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Doss Gann of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Helen Nelson of Houston; one brother, Leonard A Gann of Houston; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Active pallbearers were Jake Kendall, Langston Kilgore, Barry Walker, John E Eaton, William R Gann and Frankie Ware. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Bethel Baptist Church, Dr. Charles Simpson and Bunk Griffin.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
