Durwin L. "Durby" Berger, 43, 100 S. Third St. S.W., Mandan, died June 14, 1999, in a Rochester, Minn., hospital. Services will be held at noon Friday, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at the church.

Durwin Berger was born on Dec. 21, 1955, in Mandan, the son of William and Beatrice (Fleck) Berger. He was raised and educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan Senior High School in 1974. On Feb. 18, 1977, he married Connie May Schimdt in Mandan. She died Dec. 14, 1992.

Durwin worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 16 years. He was a brick layer for Gagnon Inc., Bismarck for five years and returned to Burlington Northern Railroad where he has been for the past 1[1/2] years.

He was a member of the Brick Layers Union and the American Hunting Club, ABATE, Mandan Eagles and NRA.

He is survived by his fiancee, Margaret Annoni, Mandan; one son, Jared, Mandan; one daughter, Jobie, Bismarck; one granddaughter, Sydney Constance Renner; his parents, William and Beatrice, Mandan; his grandmother, Pauline Fleck, Breien; eight brothers, Delwyn (Joy), Mandan, Douglas (fiancee, Diana Royer), Duluth, Minn., Darrold, Glen Ullin, DeWayne and Sheri, Superior, Wis., Donovan (Jacki), Foxborro, Wis., Dale (Marcia), Mandan, Dean (Christine), Mandan, Darren (friend, Nicole Anhorn), Mandan; six sisters, Karen (Tim) Rohr, Mandan, Jolene (Vernon) Miller, Duluth, Michelle Berger (friend, Rocky Berger), Mandan, Mellanie (Nathan) Schlosser, Mandan, Nadine (friend, Jess George) Berger, Mandan, and DeeAnn (fiance, Jason Jahner) Berger, Linton; and 40 nieces and nephews.
