DONALD P. BOYLE

DONALD P. BOYLE, 77, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at his residence. Born Dec. 28, 1931, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Bernard J. Boyle and Mary (Welling). He was a Army Korean War veteran; a factory worker at Dana Corp for 43 years, retiring in 1992; and a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church. "He was a dedicated crusader for the preservation of the unborn."

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn M. (Herber) Boyle of Fort Wayne; children, Ann P. (Doug) Brown of Columbia City, Jennifer L. Carney, Gregory J. (Mercedes) Boyle and Gwendolyn A. (Dennis) Mourey, all of Fort Wayne, Stephen P. (Terri) Boyle of Cape Girard, Mo., Erin K. (Joseph) Siela, Matthew J. Boyle and Patrick D. Boyle, all of Fort Wayne, Bernard J. Boyle of Lebanon, Geoffrey J. (Vicki) Boyle of Bristol, and Kerry M. (Heidi) Boyle of Alburguergue, N.M.; one sister, Mary Rose (Joseph) Cermola of new Haven, Conn.; 37 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers; and three sisters. Mass of Christian Burial is 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, with Fr. Frank Riccomini officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with Rosary at 7 p.m. Friday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside service. Preferred memorials to Masses or St. John Fisher Catholic Church.
