Eddie Vivian
A funeral for Eddie L. Vivian, 85, of 1209 6th Ave. S., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in O'Connor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in the Highland Cemetery.
Vivian, a former employee of the ACM refinery, died Thursday of cancer in a local nursing home.
He was born on a farm near Highwood, and moved with his family to Wisconsin at the age of 7 when his mother died. He received his education at Mineral Point, Wis., and was employed by area Mineral Point farms.
Vivian served in the Army during World War II, and returned to Great Falls after discharge. He worked at the refinery and later worked as a carpet layer for the E. B. Johnson Co. He was forced to retire because of failing health.
In 1962, he married Irene P. Hanson in Great Falls.
He was active in the VFW Club in Great Falls and for many years was commander of the club's firing squad. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Military Order of the Cooties.
Survivors include his wife of Great Falls; a step-brother, Francis; and a sister, Cora Rice of Mineral Point, Wis.
