LEOMINSTER - Shirley A. (Jennings) Bishop, 58, of 21 Holman Ave., died Friday night in Leominster Hospital after a long illness.

She leaves her husband, Weldon J. Bishop; a daughter, Leslie J. Garneau of Leominster; five grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Mr. and Mrs. Bishop were married Oct. 16, 1954.

She was born in Alton, Ill., daughter of Charles and Edna (Houze) Jennings, and later lived in Albuquerque, N.M. She lived here 10 years.

She graduated from Alton High School and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Bishop was a registered nurse for eight years in the operating room at Nashoba Community Hospital in Ayer, retiring last year. She was previously an operating room nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton, Ill., and at Lovelace Clinic in Albuquerque.

She was a member of the American Association of Operating Room Nurses. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the Nile, both in Albuquerque.

The funeral will be held Wednesday from David H. Curley Funeral Home, 89 West St., with a service at 10 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

Flowers may be sent, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7 Oak St., Worcester, 01609.
