Marian L. Newhouse Clark, 90, of Blairsville, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. The daughter of Albert and Laverne Spiece Newhouse, she was born June 10, 1918 in Blairsville. She lived her entire life in Blairsville and graduated from Blairsville High School in 1936. Mrs. Clark, along with her husband, J.W. Clark, founded Clark Metal Products in 1954. She was a member of the Blairsville First United Methodist Church, the Martha Circle of the church and the Historical Society of the Blairsville Area. Surviving are two sons, John "Jack" W. Jr. and wife Darlene, Charlottesville, Va., and David A. Sr. and wife Mary Ann, Blairsville; five grandchildren, Jacquelyn Clark, Terri Perkins, Rob Clark, David A. Clark Jr. and Kristin Corrigan; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Watson and husband Bob, Blairsville; several nieces and nephews; and a loving friend and companion, Tammy Losier. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. Clark Sr. on April 11, 2002; and a sister, Eleanor Thomas. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. Terry Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
