Frances Marie Dees, 85, of Grand Prairie, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 in Arlington, Texas.

Frances Dees was born July 20, 1924, the 5th of 8 children born to the late Early Wesley Pettis and the late Lonie Mae Matthews. Frances was raised and attend schools in Ft. Worth before moving to Grand Prairie.

She will be remembered as a faithful wife, loving mother and caring grandmother. To her church family, she will be remembered for her dedication to her God, church, pastor and family in Christ. Frances was a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church for more than 47 years.

Survivors: daughters, Linda Loken and her husband Dennis Smith of Grand Prairie, Elizabeth Kiser and her husband Chuck of Midlothian; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Maudela Nilinger.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings; Rosie, Gertie, Billy, Harley, Nona and Arval.

Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Eighth Street Baptist Church. Burial: Southland Memorial where she will be buried beside her husband, the late Jack Clifton Dees.
