Edcondido -- Mildred B. French, 99 died Friday, Oct 17, 2003 at Life Care Center of Escondido of natural causes. Born June 28, 1904, in Spring Valley, Minn., she lived at Lawrence Welk Village in Escondido for 32 years. She was a piano teacher. She graduated from MacPhails School of Music in Minneapolis, and taught there for many years. She taught private lessons for 20 years in San Jose. She played on the radio and in theaters for silent movies. She was a featured pianist for the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. She was a lifelong member of the Rosicrucian Order AMORC. Mrs French was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James B. French, Jan 18, 2000. She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and caregivers Ernie Liebman and Sokhouy Casey, both of Escondido. A memorial service is scheduled for 1pm Sunday Nov 9 at Lawrence Welk Village Hall, 8975 Lawrence Welk Drive in Escondido With Ernie Liebman officiating. Her cremains will be scattered.
