Eleanor M. Close, 86, of Ligonier, formerly of Latrobe, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born April 7, 1922, in Fairfield Township, she was a daughter of the late Lemon B. and Mary Jane Garland Wisner. She is survived by her daughter, Sallie Jean Luther and husband Richard, and son, Ronald Wisner and wife Kathy, all of Ligonier; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Wisner, Robinson, and Robert Wisner and wife Sally, Ligonier; and a sister, Geraldine Boring and husband James, Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Close, in 1999; three sisters, Alice Metzler, Mary Fisher and Ruth McCoy; and three brothers, John, Cloyd and Paul Wisner. Friends were received in J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel, Ligonier, where services were held Saturday with the Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment followed in Ft. Palmer Cemetery, Fairfield Township.
