Margaret C. Rueter,
Age 99, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Burlington, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009, at the home of her grandson, Brian Bercher. She was born in Burlington to the late Frank and Theresa (nee Murphy) Warren on August 26, 1910. She spent most of her life in Burlington, graduating from St. Charles Grade School and Burlington High School. Margaret married Andrew Rueter on October 17, 1929 at St. Charles Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 1973.

Margaret worked at the Colonial Club at Browns Lake for 9 years, Desk Clerk and Receptionist at the Hotel Burlington for 17 years, and as a Hostess at the CottonPicker Restaurant for 12 years.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Marilynn) Rueter of Arbor Vitae, Jean Winkler of Burlington, and Joan Bercher of Grand Junction, CO, 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, a son, John M. Rueter, grandsons, Christopher Winkler and Robert Bercher Jr., a son-in-law, Oliver Winkler, and by brothers, Arthur, Robert, Fred and Edward Warren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the CHURCH on Saturday, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
