Funeral services for C.R. Nunley, age 78, of Pineland, TX, will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at First Assembly of God Church, Timpson, TX. Officiating will be Bro. John Richerson, Bro. Pat Jacks, and Lee Nunley with
interment in Adams Cemetery, Panola County, TX. Mr. Nunley passed away in Pineland, TX, March 16, 2008.
Born June 11, 1929, in Logansport, LA, he was the son of W.H. and Myrie (Lee)Nunley. Mr. Nunley retired after 20 years with the Shreveport Police Department and then served with the Logansport, LA, and Center, TX, police departments. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was an ordained minister.
Survivors include wife Geda L. Nunley of Pineland, TX; son Rodney Nunley and wife Lorrie of Shreveport, LA; daughter Veronica Hope McCrary and husband Larry of Nashville, TN; step-daughter Esther O'Harra and husband Daniel of
Shelbyville, TX; brothers L.G. Nunley of Doyline, LA, and Darrell Nunley of Houston, TX; sisters Mavis Reel of Deer Park, TX; Almeda Holmes of Shreveport, LA, and Etoile Langford of Lufkin, TX; 6 grandchildren: Brandon Nunley, Tonya Williams, Shane Turnage, Dustin Nunley, Tabitha Nunley, and Victoria Nunley; 11 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren.
Mr. Nunley was preceded in death by his parents, son C. Royal Nunley, Jr., 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.
