Private entombment services for Cathy (VANZANT) MCENTIRE, 63, of Lufkin were held Saturday, June 5, 2004 with Rev. Horace Fletcher officiating. Entombment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum. Mrs. MCENTIRE was born May 24, 1941 in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Essie (CAMPBELL) and Carl VANZANT and died Tuesday, June 2, 2004 in Lufkin She married Russ MCENTIRE on January 23, 1963 in Everton, AR. Following her husband's extensive naval career of 20 years, they made their home in Lufkin, where she resided for the past 25 years. She was retired from Fleetwood Transportation following 12 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Cathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was very devoted to her family. She loved her miniature schnauzers, enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cross-stitching and quilting. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Russ MCENTIRE of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Carol MCENTIRE, Greg and Laura MCENTIRE, all of Nacogdoches, and Lance and Lori MCENTIRE of Tooele, UT; granddaughters, Amber, Colleen, and Rylee MCENTIRE, grandson, Kelso MCENTIRE; great grandson, Harold Cheyenne HARRIS, sisters, Patsy PHILLIPS of Joplin, MO, Carlene MORRIS of Harrison, AR and Sharon WILLIAMS of Everton, AR, a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and brother.
