For many a weary day
And many an eve still more,
In pain and sore distress she lay
And uttered many a groan.
How sad a sight it was
To see my Mother dead
Enshrouded in the pure white robe
Then in the cold grave laid.
Shall I withhold a tear
Of tribute or respect
When e're I think of one so dear
And fondly recollect?
Ah, no! My tears shall ever flow
When I look on her grave
For Jesus wept on Lazarus dead
When he had power to save.

The headstone is missing from its base and could not be located under the ground. There are footstones placed flat next to the bases with the initials C.A. and B.A. carved on them. These belong to Catherine and her husband.
