L.A. Ames, Former GD Guard, Succumbs
Lee Arthur Ames, 80, a former guard at General Dynamics, died yesterday in a hospital.
Ames, a native of Morgan, had lived here 30 years and resided at 8409 Redonda.
Before coming here in 1941 as a GD guard, he was chief of police in Ranger where he lived more than 20 years.
He was an aircraft mechanic at GD immediately before his retirement 10 years ago.
He was a charter member of Normandale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Ames; a son, Harold Ames of Acton; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Keener of Pampa and Mrs. Joyce Ames and Mrs. Helen Echols of Fort Worth; a brother, J.C. Ames of Wichita Falls; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Normandale Baptist Church. Burial will be in Acton Cemetery
