On June 17, 1961 he married Lila Rae L. Bratz at West Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lila Rae of New Holstein; four children, Tracy (Randall) Reichert, Chad Horneck and Julie Horneck, Todd (Carolyn) Horneck, and five grandchildren, Osprey and Jaeger Horneck, Jack, Abigail and John Horneck. He is further survived by three brothers, Gary (Linda) Horneck, New Holstein, Dale (Darlene) Horneck, School Hill, Dean (Cindy) Horneck, rural Kiel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary Bratz, Valders, William Bratz, Reedsville, Junell (Douglas) Klatt, New Holstein, Janean Bratz, Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Blanke, two brothers-in-law, David Bratz and Clinton Blanke, sister-in-law, Audrey Bratz and his Godson, Davis Horneck.
Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery.
