Born April 7, 1951, in Massillon, OH, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd B. and Ester M. Synder Collier. Also preceding her in death was her mother- and father-in-law, Ercil and Jane Browning.
Ruth was employed by the Salvation Army in Logan as a bookkeeper. She was previously employed by Logan Manufacturing and Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. Ruth was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.
Those she left to cherish her memory include her husband, Roger Browning; two daughters, Christina Dale and Lora Lee Browning, both of Newnan, GA; one son, Paul David Browning of Oakland, MD; two sisters, Judith Thacker of Lexington, KY, and Rebecca Collier of Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, LeHoma (Kem) Abraham of Chapmanville, Delana (Jim Sword) Thompson of Harts, Sheila Tomblin of Branchland, Eugene (Sherrie) Browning of Harts, Benny (Judy) Browning of Barboursville and Rick Thacker of Lexington; 15 nieces and nephews, Candy, DJ, Elisa, Jama, Benjamin, Larry, Carlee, Mason, Brandi, John Paul, Breanna, Colt, Shane, Donovan and Jade, and seven great-nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Zack, Kaitlyn, Haley, Madison, Lindsey and Andrew.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, at the Freeman Funeral Home at Chapmanville with Moses Vance and Dennis Fillinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning Cemetery at Little Harts.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday, November 23, at the funeral home.
