Henry Crall Passes Away at a Ripe Old Age - After a Well Spent Life.
Henry Crall, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of Liberty township, died Saturday morning, at his home, after an illness of only five days. The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Crall church, being conducted by Rev. Lyons, pastor of the U. B. church. Interment was made in the Crall cemetery.
Henry Crall was born in Dauphin county, Pennsylvania, October 26, 1818, and was aged 81 years, 9 months and 15 days, at the time of his death. He grew to manhood there and engaged in farming, being very succesful. In 1818 he was married to Julia A. Keiter, and to this union were born thirteen children, of whom ten are living. They are Mrs. Harriet Grogg, Reuben Crall, Henry Crall, Jonas Crall, Liberty township; Simon Crall, Warsaw, Ind., Emanuel Crall, Findlay; Mrs. Anna Sweeney, Whetstone township; Wm. Crall, Wood county; Mrs. Mary Correll, Rising Sun and Mrs. Fannie Myers, North Enid, Oklahoma.
Mr. Crall moved to this county in the fall of 1854, settling in Liberty township, on the farm where he died. His wife died on April 10, 1887 and he was married again to Mrs. Shumaker, who survives him.
Mr. Crall was one of the most highly respected citizens of the community in which he lived. He was a devout member of the U. B. church and donated the land for the church and cemetery now bearing his name, and was an active member in all charitable works. He was an affectionate husband and father, a kind neighbor and a useful citizen and possessed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him.
