Sr. Airman Joshua Wayne Zwick 24, of Tucson, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2009 in Hollywood, SC. He was born in Tucson on June 2, 1985. He graduated from CDO High School with the Class of 2003 and later attended the U of A and Pima College. Football was his life from an early age and he also had a keen interest in weight lifting and wake boarding. Joshua is the beloved son of Tonya Haley and Bill Zwick; stepmother, Patsy Zwick and stepfather, John Leigh; he is the beloved brother of his twin, Justin; sister, Kimberly and stepsisters, Jennifer and Karen. Joshua leaves his grandparents, Sue Haley of Willcox, AZ, Suzanne Zwick of Myrtle Beach, SC, John and Sharen Leigh of Tucson, J. T. and Audrey Hawthorne of Buffalo, NY, and Janice Brooks of W. Covina, CA. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and extended military family. A Service with Military Honors will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Barrier Chapel of Casas Church. Joshua, we will miss your smile and generosity. One man was killed early this morning in a single-car accident on Highway 162 near Hollywood.
Joshua Zwick, 24, whom authorities said was as on active duty in the Air Force, died after his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree at about 5 a.m. He was wearing a seatbelt but died from blunt force trauma, the Charleston County Coroner's Office said.
The accident occurred in the south-bound lane of the highway, in the vicinity of 5519 Highway 162. Zwick lived in the area.
