Winona "Nona" Hannah Quibell Hansen Baker, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 19, 2009 with all five children by her side.


Born February 18, 1920 in Randolph, Utah to Joseph Newton Quibell and Ellen Dean.


She was the sixth of nine children. She graduated from Stevens-Henager Business College. She married James Hansen (divorced) and later married Victor Ray Baker; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.


She served in the Army during World War II. Also worked for Tooele Army Depot, Hill Field, and retired at seventy-nine, from Deseret Industries. She wrote poetry all of her life. Nona was an avid doll collector, and she learned to play the piano at age eighty-three. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly.


She is survived by five children: John L. Hansen, Arkansas; Richard L. (Linda) Hansen, Texas; Vicki (Thomas Tinney Sr.), California; Bette (Ernest) Wake, South Jordan, Utah; Jodi (Billy) Key, Salt Lake City; sixteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren; beloved nephew, Larry; cherished niece, Benee, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters and brothers, two grandchildren, and other family members.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary (6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West)). There will be a viewing held two hours prior to the services.
Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates immediately following the services.
