He was united in marriage to Virginia Barrett on May 13, 1943, in Greenville. She survives and resides in Piedmont.
Mr. DeSha served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He served in Northern France, Normandy, and Germany. He worked for alliance Tool Company in Crestwood for many years as a tool handler. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sherry McAllister, Piedmont; three sons, Travis William DeSha, Bob DeSha, both of Piedmont. Mike (Violet) DeSha, St. Louis; five grandchildren, Holly, Pinkley, Jennifer Brown, Miranda Reeves, Amy Votaw, Tina Holdergraver; eight great-grandchildren, Molly and Holt Votaw, Levi and Lacy Brown, Madison Grace DeSha, Lane Pinkley, Ryan and Taylor Travis Reeves.
Preceding him in death were one brother, Willy Irvin DeSha, five sisters, Trudy, Josie Mae, Elizabeth, Alice, and Bertha Louise.
The funeral was held Nov. 14 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont, with Pastor Don Hutto officiating. Pallbearers were Travis W., Bob and Mike DeSha, Todd Pinkley, David and Levi Brown. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont, with military honors provided by the Missouri Honor Guard.
