Doris Latendresse Kenney passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 after a brief illness. Born on January 14, 1929 in Marion, Indiana, Doris was the 11th of 13 children born to Frank and Frances (Kellogg) Latendresse. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy (Indianapolis) in 1947 and attended Maryville College in St. Louis, MO. She married James C. Kenney, who survives, on June 17, 1950. Raising six children, Doris relished her role as a homemaker. She volunteered for a number of years at Immaculate Heart of Mary School and at St. Vincent Hospital.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, three sisters, and one grandson. Other survivors include her devoted children: Anne (LK) Shinneman, Susan (Chuck) Walker, Alice Kenney Reahard, Jimmy Kenney, Mary (Brad) Miller, and Jack (Stacy) Kenney. She also leaves behind 13 cherished grandchildren, and 5 precious great-grandchildren. Her sisters, Anne Krieg (Indianapolis), Betty Stahl (Plainfield), and her brother, Frank (Fran) Latendresse (Toledo) also survive.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Calling at the church will begin at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Vincent Hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel www.leppertmortuary.com.
