Helen Louise Campbell Bowman went to join her Heavenly Father on Nov. 3, 2005, after a brief, courageous struggle with cancer. She was a unique, much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, friend and coworker. She was born in Pasadena, Texas, on Oct. 4, 1953, to Carol Sammie and Margaret Clouse Campbell. She married her high school sweetheart, Ron Bowman, at Berry Street Baptist Church on Jan. 20, 1973. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Daniel and Ethel Clouse.

Helen loved singing, playing the piano, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest gift was the ability to make anyone feel at ease. She worked for the city of Springdale for the last 20 years of which she served as the chief of police's secretary for the last 15 years. She lived her life to the fullest, and enjoyed every minute she was given with her family. The greatest joy of her life was being "Naw" to her two loving grandsons.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron Bowman of Springdale; one daughter and son-in-law, Kaci and Danny Phipps of Tontitown; two grandsons, Matthew and Caden Phillips of Tontitown; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carroll Campbell of Springdale, Harold and Lou Campbell of College Station, Texas; one aunt, Helen Cohen of College Station; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Sid and Becky Rieff of Springdale, Randy and Betty McKee of Springdale.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Louis Dewett and the Rev. Daniel Dickard officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. today, Nov. 6 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Sid Rieff, Randy McKee, Tommy Holland, Steve Harp, Bill Woodard and Dennis Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Springdale Police Department.
