He was born on May 10, 1946, in Buckingham County, Virginia, the third child of nine born to the late Reverend James Cornelius and Deaconess Christine Fleming Brown.
He was retired from MeadWestVaco.
He is survived by his devoted and beloved Julia; a son, Paul, a daughter, Paula, three grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers, James Jr., Freddie and Thomas, sisters, Doris, JoAnne, and Lisa, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Brown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Dillwyn Elementary School with interment at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Arvonia.
