Charles Marion Allen, age 67, was pronounced dead on arrival at Houston Community Hospital Friday, March 1. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3 at Macedonia Methodist Church. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Thorn officiating.

The son of Lera Allen and the late John Harvey Allen, he was a farmer. A lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, he was a member of Macedonia Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vara Linley Allen of Houston; one son, Thomas F Allen of West Point; his mother, Mrs. Lera Gann Allen of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Marie Vance of Houston; three brothers, Oscar Allen of Houston, Elkin Allen of Okolona and Wilburn Allen of Buena Vista; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers were H D Allen, James Allen, Charles Gaskin, Jerry Criddle, William Ward and Sammy McNeel.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
