Lydia Ann Ralston, widow of A.J. Ralston, died at the old homestead in Melrose Township on January 1. She was born in Sullivan County, Indiana, November 29, 1830. She was married to A.J. Ralston in 1858. To them were born three boys and three girls: Timothy, Allen and Ray, who preceded her in death, Rachel, May Ann and Amanda who survive. She was converted in early life and united with the Presbyterian Church in Plymouth. At the time of her death she was a member of the United Brethren Church at Potter's Hall. Besides her three daughters, she leaves a number of grandchildren, one brother and one sister, with a large number of friends.
