---Funeral services for Everett A. Billings, 66, of LaPlata will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in LaPlata. The Rev. Richard Ceretti, former pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the LaPlata cemetery.
---Mr. Billings died Monday morning at 11:45 in a Kirksville hospital, where he had been in failing health with a heart condition, however, death was unexpected.
---The son of George Sharp and Pearl Mae Wilson Billings, he was born April 19, 1928 at LaPlata. On May 19, 1928 at LaPlata, he married Ruby Marquith and to this marriage four children were born.
---Surviving are his wife; his mother of LaPlata; two sons, George David Billings of Rt. 2, LaPlata and Jay Newton Billings of OFallon; two daughters, Mrs. Noel (Wanda Lou) Crawford of LaPlata and Mrs. Donald (Marilyn Sue) Miles of Phillipsburg, Kan.; one brother, John S. Billings of Humbolt, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Guy (Mozelle) McCombs of Shady Side, Md. and eight grandchildren, Kimbra, Kyle and Krista Crawford, Kathie, Shelia and Tenna Billings and Clinton and Breton Miles.
---He was preceded in death by his father on October 2, 1948.
---Mr. Billings was a life-long resident of LaPlata. During his early married life he was engaged in farming and later owned and operated the City Bakery in LaPlata. He also owned and operated the Sinclair Service station in LaPlata. Before his retirement four years ago he was employed at the MFA Feed Mill and Hollister's in Kirksville.
---Mr. Billings was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in LaPlata and a former member of the Elks Club in Macon and the Lloyd Order of the Moose in Kirksville.
---Bearers will be: Carol Lee Bragg, Ronnie Bragg, Lee Hall, Henry Hall, Donald Thompson and Raymond Saffell.
