Bertha Girard, 94, of Central Square, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Loretto Geriatric Center, Syracuse. Born in Ogdensburg, she had lived in Moira before moving to Central Square. She had been co-owner of Girard's IGA in Moira with her husband, John C. Girard, who predeceased her in 1997. Surviving are three sons, Robert of Ogdensburg, John W. of Central Square and Largo, FL, and Lawrence of Central Square; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be private at the convenience of the family at WATSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 631 S. Main Street, Central Square. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square. Contributions may be made to Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126.
