James A. Wymore was born November 13, 1895, in Ottawa County, Kansas. He moved to Salina in 1933. During a varied business career, Mr. Wymore established a film delivery service, Salina's first bowling alley and operated the Wymore Motel for 25 years. He also was involved in oil exploration. Mr. Wymore was a longtime member of Masonic organizations and a past master of the Miltonvale lodge. He was a 50-year life member of the Isis Shrine, had been in the Shrine Patrol and was a 32nd degree member of the Salina Consistory. He also was a life member of the Elks lodge. Mr. Wymore died October 29, 1973 at Asbury hospital.

Survivors included his widow, Minnie; a son, James; a daughter, actress and dancer Miss Patrice Wymore (Mrs. Errol Flynn); his mother, Mrs. Emma Catlin; and 5 grandchildren.
