She lived all her life--with the exception of five years spent in Kansas--in the Moulton-Dean vicinity, having spent the last five years in the home of her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. J.E. McKenzie. She leaves besides her family, large number of friends.
Mrs. Freeborn was united with the First Presbyterian Church at Oakley, Kansas in early womanhood, and later transferred her letter to the First Presbyterian Church at Moulton, Iowa.
On December 24, 1886, she was joined in Holy wedlock to Richard Freeborn. This union was blessed with five children. John Clarence(deceased), Mrs. Marcia McKenzie, Charles Edward, Mary Salina(deceased), and Harry Richard.
Mrs. Freeborn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two children, John Clarence and Mary Salina.
Surviving her besides her three children are: One sister, Mrs. Salina McClaskey, 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and one niece, Mrs. John McConville of Centerville, Iowa.
She will long be remembered as a very loyal wife and loving mother, a sympathetic and helpful friend and neighbor, and a good all around woman who delighted in doing the will of the Lord.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 20, at 2 pm in the Zoar Chapel with Rev. E.E. Withrow, and old friend of the deceased officiating. Miss Edna Withrow accompanied by Miss Madalin Morrow sang: "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "Near To The Heart of God".
She was laid to rest beside her husband and two children in Zoar Cemetery.
