Alvie Lee Gooch, 78, Athens, died Sunday at a local hospital.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel Carwile officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Gooch was a retired security guard at Redstone Arsenal and a member of the First Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Riggs of Athens; two sisters, Eunice Wooten and Beulah Allen, both of Athens; a brother, Henry Gooch of Athens; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
