George Roosevelt, 45, of Carmi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilfred Roosevelt, died Monday of cancer at Welborn Memorial Hospital in Evansville.

Services were held from the First United Methodist Church in Carmi.

Mr. Roosevelt had been manager of the White County ASCS office in Carmi for the past 10 years, after having worked in the Pure Oil Co. office at Cisne for 14 years.

Surviving are his widow, the former Ada Mae Weber; two sons, Greg, a senior and Dan, a freshman, both students at the University of Illinois; his parents; a brother, Wilbur of Decatur; and two sisters, Mrs. James (Mary Kay) Fenton of Carlinville and Mrs. Howard (Wanda) Ackerman of Carmi.

Mr. Roosevelt had been in failing health for the past year and had been hospitalized a number of times.

Arrangements were by the Campbell Funeral Home of Carmi, with burial in Kuykendall Cemetery, near Carmi.
