Born July 31, 1955 in Radford she was the daughter of Lewis Gray and Bettye Epperly Hines. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; E.F. & Annie Edwards Hines and Carlyle and Sudie Carden Epperly.
She retired from Radford University with over 29 years of service. Sheryl was a faithful member of the Snowville Baptist Church where she has been a Sunday school teacher, secretary/treasurer, choir member and vacation Bible school director. She was a loving mother, wonderful wife, a blessing and inspiration to all that knew her.
Surviving her are her loving Husband of 36 years Harold W. Duncan of Snowville; children Amber Nicole Duncan of Snowville and Sarah Ivy Duncan and husband Jorge Oswaldo Velasco of Ashburn; three grandchildren who called her “MeMaw,” Brodrick “Brody” Aaron Duncan, Conner Izaak Duncan and Tristen Lynn Velasco; parents Bettye Epperly Hines of Claytor Lake and Lewis Gray Hines and stepmother Carolyn Hines of Montgomery County; sisters Amy Horne and husband Brian Horne of Christiansburg and Jennifer Duncan & husband, Brian Duncan of Christiansburg; brothers Donald Hines of Snowville, Jay Hines and wife Gail Hines of Montgomery County, Kent Hines of Claytor Lake and Mark Hines and wife Cathy Hines of Radford; step-brother Tommy Weeks of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Snowville Baptist Church with the Rev Neil Wood officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Dishon (Page) Cemetery at Snowville.
