Virginia Florence Shannon Bader 29 Aug 1914- 11 Aug 1990 was the youngest daughter of Margaret 'Lulu' Roberts and husband Edgar Shannon. After high school she was in the military serving as a nurse. Previous to her post in Bridgeport, she was stationed in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she met Jack Bader. They were married before Jack returned to the European theater of war in 1943, reuniting when he returned from the WWII in 1945. With their son Jack they returned to live in South Williamsport, Lycoming, Pennsylvania in 1945. They soon moved to Dayton, Ohio and then to Baltimore Maryland as Jack took a job with the American Red Cross. Eventually they moved back to South Williamsport where Virginia began her post war nursing career as a private duty nurse at Williamsport Hospital. After 9 years of marriage Virginia and Jack were divorced. Virginia moved back to Cumberland Maryland in 1957 to be nearer her family. She took a job with a few local hospitals but eventually became an industrial nurse with Kelly Springfield Tire where she retired in 1979. She was close to her Shannon sisters throughout her lifetime, living near them in Cumberland MD.
