Robert Adams, 60, died Friday evening at the Batavia Veterans Hospital, where he had been a patient for three years suffering from emphysema.
There will be no funeral or calling hours. A memorial service will be held later at the family's convenience. Burial will be in Barnes Settlement Cemetery, Alexandria Bay.
Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home Inc., Theresa. Donations may be made in his memory to the Pinnacle Nursing Home, Monroe Avenue, Rochester, N.Y. 14600.
He is survived by a son, Carl, Philadelphia; three grandsons; six brothers, Curtis, Herschel and Lowell, Rochester; Donald and Douglas, Plessis, and Gary, Canton; two sisters, Mrs. Elof (Virginia) Hansson, Plessis, and Mrs. Anna May Chapman of Watertown, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Adams was born July 24, 1931, in the town of Alexandria, son of George and Mabel Carlisle Adams. He graduated from Redwood High School. He later entered the U.S. Marine Corps, serving at various bases in the United States and the Philippines in the late 1940s and '50s.
Mr. Adams married Dorothy Wagoner of Plessis. She died in 1987.
After serving in the military, he moved to Rochester, where he was employed by the Pinnacle Nursing Home, retiring in 1987 after 17 years of service
