Mary L. Oesterling, 86, of Unity Township, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born April 15, 1920, in Peanut, a daughter of the late Mike and Anna Lakotosh Zamiska.
During World War II, she worked at the former Acme Die Detonator Plant, Latrobe, and the former Walworth Valve Co. She was a member of the St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe, the St. Vincent Rosary Altar Society and the St. Vincent Seniors.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Oesterling; two daughters, Bernadette Cramer and husband Albert, Unity Township, and Barbara Hutchison and husband Patrick, Laughlintown; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Helen Poklembo and husband Joseph, Latrobe; three sisters-in-law, Helen and Elizabeth Zamiskie, both of Latrobe, and Betty Zomisky, California; a brother-in-law, Eugene Faith, Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Zomisky, and George and Stephen Zamiskie; and three sisters, Ann Dombroski, Elizabeth Faith and Catherine Marlow.
Friends were received at the Gaut-Bacha Funeral Home, Pleasant Unity. A funeral Mass was held Monday in St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. Interment was in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
