Barbara June Davis, 66, of Beaver, formerly of White Oak, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, while vacationing near Corpus Christi, Texas.

Born January 21, 1943, at Daniels, she was the daughter of the late Wison and Ursula D. Wood.

She truly loved traveling, reading and visiting with her family and friends. In addition to her many attributes, , she was the family historian. Later in life she became a gifted artisan, creating beautiful necklaces and bracelets.

In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Harold A. "John" Davis.

Left to cherish her memories are Cliff Greer, her loving and cherished friend of Beaver; two brothers, Frank Wood and wifeJoann, and Danny Wood and wife Karen all of Daniels. Never having children, she took great pride and joy in her beloved nephews, great-nephews and nieces: four nephews, Shaun Wood and wife Erin of Daniels; Eric Wood and wife Amy of Simpsonville, S.C.; Adam Wood and wife Angie of Daniels, and Ryan Wood of Daniels. Five great-nieces and nephews, Amanda Wood and Lacie Wood of Simpsonville, S.C.; Austin Wood, Brett Wood and Hunter Wood, all of Daniels. Two aunts, Ruth Matherly and Ellen Lilly of Daniels. Special brother and sister-in-law Roland and Marian Davis of Hinton.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and her many friends at The Villages at Greystone, Beaver.

In accordance with her wishes , she will be cremated. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wilson And Ursula Wood Memorial Fund, Beckley Area Foundation, P.O. Box 5092, Beckley, WV 25802
