Abigail McAllister, dau. and 5th child of Andrew McAllister, Jr. and Abigail Rogers, b. Nov. 8, 1812 at Lemington, VT. She d. Jan. 19, 1886 at Ozark, Arkansas while a resident of her dau. Emma's family.

On Apr. 4, 1833 at Morgan Co., OH (by James McGregor, JP), Abigail m. Charles Francis Alden, b. circa 1803 at NY whose parentage has not been discovered. That he possibly was a lineal descendant of John Alden of the 1620 Mayflower passage to Plymouth, Mass. and his wife Priscilla Mullins, requires separate research. He d. betw. 1856, when he appears at the head of his family in the Doyle Twp, Clarke Co., Iowa state census, and June 1860 when wife Abigail was enumerated at the same place as head of their family.

It is ironic, perhaps purely coincidental, that the man who married Abigail and Charles had the same name as Rev. James McGregor, the immigrant Scotch Presbyterian and 1st pastor at the 1720 founding of Londonderry, NH. Before Rev. McGregor's death in 1728 he would marry several ancestors of Abigail (McAllister) Alden.

Charles Francis Alden and Abigail McAllister had at least six children, the youngest, dau. Emma, the only one curently further traced.
