Miss Buckreus had been an employee of the Bear Brand Hosiery and Weyenberg Shoe companies of Hartford. She was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran church and very active in church work, including the choir, Sunday School and ladies societies. She had also sung with several community choruses. Miss Buckreus was a member of the Easter Star.
A daughter of the late John and Anna Hagen Buckreus, she was born in Hartford on Jan. 31, 1889.
Surviving are a brother, John, and two sisters, Adele and Natalie (Mrs. William O'Neil), all of Hartford.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Redeemer Lutheran church with the Rev. Maurice Felton officiating. Prior to the services, there was visitation at the Berndt funeral home. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
