Bruce O Bowlus, 67, of 3733 West Central Ave, a Navy career man, died today in Veterans Administration Hospital, Cleveland.
Mr Bowlus, who served in the Navy 30 years, was a World War II veteran. A chief warrant officer for many years, he held this rank with the Naval Reserve in Toledo, retiring in 1956. He later was an electrical engineer for the architectural firm of Samborn, Steketee, Otis & Evans for about seven years, retiring two years ago. He was a former first vice commander of the Toledo District Council, Amvets.
Surviving are his wife, Bernice; daughters, Mrs Barbara Kamphausen, Mrs Donna Wolfe, and Mrs Bette Jayne Smitley; and stepson, Raymond Victor.
Services will be Saturday at 11 am in Herman Berkenkamp and Son Mortuary, where the body will be after noon Friday. Collingwood Lodge, F&AM, will conduct services Friday at 8 pm in the mortuary.
