Tameka Yvonne Ruthanne Medina was born to Brenda Medina and James Anderson on January 6th, 1981 in Portland, Oregon.

A bright young lady, she graduated from Madison High School and continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Portland State University in Women’s Studies.

As a loving daughter, sister and mother, Tameka’s world revolved around her two children and her family.

On September 12th, 2005, she was blessed with the birth of her son, Ashawn Lorenzo Medina-Barr. He grew to be a happy, loving 4-year-old boy who loved family time at the beach.

Much too soon, Tameka and Ashawn entered the gates of Heaven together on November 4th, 2009 as a result of domestic violence. They leave memories in the heart of Ashawn’s sister, Tameka’s older daughter.

They also leave behind to cherish their memories Tameka’s mother Brenda Medina, brother Michael Medina, sisters Mireaya Medina and Mercedes, paternal grandmother Ruth Anderson, aunts Diane Delaney and Beverly Chillburg, uncles Philip Medina and Antonio Medina, cousin Michael, Auntie Agnes Thomas, and a host of cousins and friends.

Tameka was preceded in death by her father James.
