Birge Street Man Dies at 92; Funeral to Be Saturday

Samuel Diehl McCullough, 92, of 10 Birge Street died early Tuesday afternoon in the Thompson House where he had been a patient since Jan. 28.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternnon at 2:30 in Centre Congregational Church. Rev. Robert J. Harding will officiate. Entombment will be in the Ker receiving vault with burial in the spring in Meetinghose Hill Cemetery.
Born in Middle Springs, Pa. Jan. 11, 1863, he was the son of James E. and Anna (Diehl) McCullough. Formerly associated with his son, the late Robert W. McCullough, in the Crowell Motor Co., which was located on Canal Street, Mr. McCullough retired 24 years ago. Prior to coming to Brattleboro in November 1929 he was employed for 25 years by the Worthington Pump Co. of Holyoke, Mass.
Mr. McCullough first married Anna B. Hawk on March 16, 1887. She died Oct. 16, 1929. On Oct. 28, 1930 he married Grace (Perris) Larrabee, who survives.
He was a member of the Congregational Church in Florence, Mass., and an attendant of Centre Congregational Church. A seventh-degree Granger, Mr. McCullough held membership in both Protective Grange and Windham County Pomona Grange. He was also a member of the Golden Age Club and a past commander of the Sons of Union Veterans.
Besides his widow, he is survived by one son of his first marriage, James C. [sic] McCullough of Keene, N.H., and a brother, David, 96, of Chambersburg, Pa. He also leaves 15 grandchildren,
18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
